UCL: Embarrassing, I saw Arteta, Odegaard begging them – Agbonlahor slams Arsenal supporters

Former Aston Villa captain, Gabriel Agbonlahor has slammed Arsenal supporters for the ’embarrassing’ atmosphere inside the Emirates Stadium during the Gunners’ UEFA Champions League semi-final first leg defeat to Paris Saint-Germain this week.

Agbonlahor said he saw the likes of Mikel Arteta, Martin Odegaard, Gabriel Martinelli and David Raya begging Arsenal supporters for help to sing for them and support the hosts during the encounter.

Arsenal now face an uphill task to reach the Champions League final after losing 1-0 at home to PSG on Tuesday night.

Ousmane Dembele netted the only goal of the encounter early in the first half.

“It was embarrassing, they were quiet,”; Agbonlahor told talkSPORT when asked about the Arsenal fans at the Emirates Stadium.

“Come on, it was a semi-final of the Champions League, look at what Liverpool have done at Anfield in semi-finals, Aston Villa against PSG.

“Do they need a man with a speaking behind the goal saying, ‘sing, sing’?

“It’s incredible, how can you just not create an atmosphere for your players?

“I have seen Odegaard, I saw Raya, I saw Martinelli a few times as well, Arteta, it’s like they were begging, ‘please, can you sing? Give us something, help’.”;

Arsenal will face PSG in the second leg of their Champions League tie at the Parc des Princes next Wednesday
