ECL: We dropped – Maresca criticizes Chelsea players after 4-1 win over Djurgarden

Chelsea boss, Enzo Maresca has criticized his players following their UEFA Europa Conference League semi-final first leg 4-1 win against Djurgarden on Thursday.
Maresca said his team dropped in performance in the last 15 minutes of the encounter against the Sweden side.

He, however, said he was pleased with the outcome of the game because it was a semi-final of a European competition.

Goals from Jadon Sancho, Noni Madueke and Nicolas Jackson (2) gave the Blues the win over Djurgarden.

“First of all I am very happy with the result and the performance,”; Maresca said at his post-match interview.

“It is the semi-final of a European competition so it is very important.

“I think the performance for one hour or 70 minutes was a good performance but then we dropped a bit in the final 15 minutes.

“That showed that we cannot allow ourselves to drop because it is always complicated.”;

Chelsea will now host Djurgarden in the return leg at Stamford Bridge next week.
