I’m entering health sector – Wike tells FCT doctors

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, on Thursday pledged to turn his tentacles towards the health sector.

Wike made the appeal while pledging to further focus on other sectors in the FCT.

‎He spoke during the flag-off of the construction of Arterial Road N20 (Solomon Lar way) from Road N5 (Obafemi Awolowo way) to the Airport Expressway (AEW).

Wike said, “Now, we are entering into the health sector and I have said that no sector will be left untouched, we will make sure every sector is given the attention that is required.”

The minister also urged youths of the FCT against unnecessary extortion of companies carrying out projects.

“‎I want to appeal to our youths and the residents of this area, I sincerely appeal to everybody to support the company and not extort money unnecessarily from them,” he added.

Recall that Abuja Association of Resident Doctors of the FCT had embarked on an indefinite strike over poor working conditions, remuneration and other demands.

On September 19, Wike said he had made by the resident doctors.

Following the disclosure made by the minister, the doctors suspended their industrial action.
