Their parents, Suzanne Lyons and Rick Meloff, chose the middle names A, B, and C to indicate their birth order. This idea was inspired by nurses at the hospital who suggested it as a humorous solution.
The brothers resemble each other so closely that Quentin recalls not being able to recognize himself in a photograph of the three until he was 12.
In addition to their unique middle names, Suzanne and Rick painted the boys' toenails to help identify them quickly.
The brothers have often experienced surprise from others regarding their names.
Quentin stated, “During the pregnancy, they began using the term ABC while looking at the ultrasound.”
“For her [Suzanne], she always referred to us as ABC, and when the nurses suggested it, she embraced the idea.”
He elaborated, “At that time, they had many challenges to manage—having three babies at once was quite stressful. Outsourcing this decision made sense.”
“The nurses at the hospital proposed it, and our parents went along with it.”
Quentin mentions that it has “always been a great conversation starter on first dates.” However, his middle name ‘B’ has caused him some issues.
He opted to remove his middle name B from his passport after being accused of “lying” when passing through border control. Nonetheless, he maintains it legally.
The restaurant worker from [location] shared, “The first time I went to New York as an adult, I experienced issues at passport control due to my middle name. It kept happening, and people would look at me strangely.”
“It sounds like I’m not being truthful; it’s not the most believable story.”
He added, “When I was renewing my passport, they asked if I wanted to make any changes. I thought, ‘What if I could drop my middle name?’ They did it for me, and it’s been smooth sailing since.”
The triplets, born on July 21, 1994, were challenging to distinguish as children.
Quentin reflected, “Back then, our parents painted our toenails to tell us apart. I couldn’t even begin to identify who was who in photos during that time.”
After grade four or five, around the ages of 11 or 12, it became easier to differentiate between the brothers.
When the trio was younger, they appeared with Mark Ruffalo in a program called Due South.

Discussing the exciting opportunity, Quentin shared, “My mom and dad loved working with him. It was one of those situations in TV shows, especially when they need child actors and want to replace babies quickly.”
The triplets also took part in numerous advertisements and were approached for various film roles, including [specific roles].
Quentin mentioned, “Our parents declined those offers because they believed once we were in makeup and costumes, we
