IDF demolishes home of Palestinian gunman behind deadly West Bank bus attack

The Israel Defense Forces, IDF, announced on Tuesday that it has demolished the home of Ezz Aldin Malluh, the Palestinian gunman responsible for a deadly shooting attack on a bus in the West Bank late last year that killed a 12-year-old Israeli boy.

The demolition took place overnight in Bayt Awa, a town near Hebron, where Malluh had lived.

Malluh had opened fire on 11 December 2024 at a bus travelling from the Beitar Ilit settlement to Jerusalem, as it passed a junction near the Palestinian town of al-Khader.

The attack left Yehoshua Aharon Tuvia Simha, 12, critically wounded. He later died from his injuries. Several other passengers were also injured in the shooting.

Malluh surrendered to Israeli authorities the following day.
The IDF said Tuesday’s operation was carried out “in accordance with government policy”; to demolish the homes of persons accused of carrying out deadly terrorist attacks, a move it says serves as a deterrent.
