The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has revealed that the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, failed to conduct its primary election ahead of the forthcoming bye-election to fill the vacant position in Ibadan North Federal Constituency.
INEC made this revelation in a letter obtained by DAILY POST on Wednesday in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
DAILY POST gathered that the party was supposed to conduct its primary ahead of the bye-election slated to hold in August at the weekend.
The bye-election became necessary as a result of the demise of the last occupant of the seat, Hon. Musliudeen Olaide Akinremi.

INEC in Oyo State has however declared that the APC failed to conduct its primary.
The electoral body noted that all efforts to monitor the APC primary proved abortive.
In a letter dated 21st July, 2025, and addressed to the Director of Election and Party Monitoring at INEC Headquarters in Abuja, the Acting Administrative Secretary in Oyo State, Rosemary Alaba Adeniyi, submitted a formal report on the exercise.
According to an attached report signed by Kehinde Omisile, the Acting Head of Department for Election and Party Monitoring (EPM), INEC in Oyo State categorically declared that all efforts made by the electoral body to monitor the party’s primary election at the weekend proved abortive.
