I have no regrets for being posted to Jigawa – NSCDC commandant

The Jigawa State Commandant of the Nigerian Security And Civil Defence Corp, NSCDC, CC Bala Bawa has said he has no regrets for being posted to the stdescribing the assignment as a call to serve.

Bawa stated this while speaking at the celebration of his 100 days in office as NSCDC state commandant, held at the command headquarters in Dutse.

He described Jigawa as one of the most peaceful states in the country despite some security issues including, farmers herdsmen clashes, vandalism, theft, armed robbery and kidnapping.

The NSCDC commandant explained that upon his deployment to the state, he has introduced various strategies that helped in enhancing the security situation of the state.

“My deployment to Jigawa State has given me the opportunity to contribute to the peace, unity and socio economic stability in the state.

“Within these days, we have achieved in beautification and painting of the state command, multiple arrests of high profile suspects with recovery of stolen items, protection of critical infrastructure, crackdown on crimes, enhancement of interagency collaboration, and protection of churches and mosques during worship,” he said.

He also commended the support of the state government, traditional rulers, sister security agencies and the media in strengthening synergy towards ensuring the safety of lives and property.

Bawa equally urged the general public to support security agencies with vital information that will help in preventing crimes and criminality.

Speaking on behalf of the Jigawa State Governor, Special Adviser on Security Usman Muhammad Jahun commended the commandant for his giant strides within his 100 days in office.

He assured of the state government’s continued support.
