A 50-year-old man, identified as Birish, has been arrested by the Katsina Community Watch Corps for allegedly acting as an informant and logistics supplier to armed bandits responsible for attacks in various communities across the state.

Birish, a native of Gozo in Zango Local Government Area of Katsina State, was apprehended following intelligence reports linking him to the supply of essentials such as food and fuel to the criminal groups operating in the region.

In an interrogation video shared on X by security analyst Zagazola Makama, the suspect confessed to aiding the bandits, although he claimed he did not personally deliver the supplies to them.

In a video of his interrogation shared on X by security expert Zagazola Makama, Birish, a 50-year-old man from Gozo in Zango Local Government Area of Katsina State, admitted to aiding armed bandits by supplying them with essential items.

“My name is Birish. I’m from Gozo, Zango LGA. I’m 50 years old and of Hausa ethnicity,”;; he said during questioning.

“I have bought fuel and taken it to them. They always send a woman to collect it and deliver it to them. I don’t know her name,”;; he explained.

Birish further disclosed that the supplies included beverages, sachet water, bread, rice, and fuel.

When asked about direct contact with the bandits, he responded, “After we buy the items, they send people to collect them in the town near Alhaji Bello’s house.”;;

Though he admitted to supporting the criminal group, Birish denied any involvement or knowledge of a recent attack carried out by the bandits in the community.

“Those who came to attack the man were up to five, but I don’t know how much they collected from him. He stole some items and was apprehended, and a judgment was passed on him. I was not given any money,”;; he said.
