Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State on Monday said his administration believes in slow and steady governance in delivering good governance to the people.

The governor said he chose the style as a strategy to ensure consistency, goal attainment as well as sustained progress over haste.

Aiyedatiwa stated during the inauguration of the newly appointed 16 commissioners in the state, which was held at the International Centre for Culture and Events, The Dome, Akure, the state capital,

While urging the new commissioners to hit the ground running in their respective ministries, the governor disclosed that the expectations of the people are high.

With Aiyedatiwa emphasising that nothing short of excellence will be acceptable from members of his cabinet in the course of their duties, he stated that the appointments were deliberately delayed since February.

Aiyedatiwa, who urged the newly inaugurated commissioners to discharge their duties with a high sense of integrity and patriotism, cautioned the families and associates of the new commissioners against exerting undue pressure on them for personal or sectional gains.

“The people of Ondo State expects nothing but the best from us, having entrusted us with an overwhelming mandate, and we must strive to deliver on all our electioneering promises.

“This concept highlights the value of persistence, patience, and steady progress in achieving goals. Within the first 100 days of our administration, we have been able to prove that slow and steady wins the race.”;
