The production team of the dating show “I Am Solo”; has released a statement after one of its contestants was arrested on rape charges.

On June 24, it was reported that the Seoul Mapo Police Station had arrested an “I Am Solo”; contestant in his thirties on charges of sexual assault. The man, whose surname is Park, is suspected of having sexually assaulted a woman in her twenties in a parking lot in the Seogyo neighborhood of Seoul’s Mapo District on June 21 at 3:30 a.m. KST.

After appearing on a past season of “I Am Solo”; as a contestant, Park has since gone on to appear on the show’s spin-off “I Am Solo, Love Forever.”;

Later in the day, the “I Am Solo”; production team released the following statement in response to the news:

We apologize for giving the many viewers who love “I Am Solo”; cause for concern. We on the production team first learned about “I Am Solo”; contestant Park’s criminal charges and the fact that the court issued a warrant for his arrest through the morning news on June 24.

The production team recognizes the gravity of this matter and plans to take measures to prevent viewers from feeling uncomfortable [while watching] future broadcasts. We will also delete and edit out the contestant in question as much as possible from the episodes that have already aired.

Despite the fact that we asked the cast to be cautious and careful both before and after the show aired, the production team feels both responsible and sorry that such an incident occurred. We will manage our cast more strictly so that they fulfill their contractual obligations and responsibilities even after filming ends.

In order to repay the love and interest of our viewers, we will take extra care in producing our program.
