Lere Olayinka, the Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, confronted former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Thursday for supporting the protests demanding the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
Olayinka labeled Atiku a hypocrite for not condemning the murder of Deborah in Sokoto.
Since June 2021, Kanu has been held by the Department of State Services (DSS) after being rearrested in Kenya and brought back to Nigeria.
Currently, the IPOB leader is facing terrorism-related charges before the Abuja Federal High Court, presided over by Justice James Omotosho.
While his trial is ongoing, Kanu has expressed concerns about his declining health while in DSS custody.
However, Olayinka shared on X: “This same Atiku, who did not speak out against the murder of Deborah in Sokoto.”
“Hypocrite @atiku tweeted a condemnation of Deborah’s murder but quickly deleted it.”
