THE husband of a murdered beauty queen claims he tried to breastfeed their baby from her corpse after she was allegedly shot dead by her “jealous” mum-in-law.

Carolina, a former – with prosecutors saying her mother-in-law is the main suspect.
Her husband Alejandro has claimed he decided to stay at home and not immediately report the shooting because he wanted to feed their baby, according to local crime reporter Carlos Jimenez.
He said he tried to breastfeed the tot – as Carolina had been doing at the time – and then bathed it before calling his lawyers.
It was only until the next day that he decided to alert cops.

He also claimed he feared the baby could be taken into care by social services.
Carolina’s mum, Reyna Gómez Molina, has accused Alejandro of keeping the body at home and delaying his call to the in order to give his own mother time to escape.
Investigators have not confirmed the claims.

Herrera was inside the home with her son – Carolina’s partner – at the time of the shooting in Polanco, Mexico City.
The mum-in-law fled after the alleged killing and remains on the run.
The shooting is said to have happened late Wednesday night – but was not reported until the following day, reports say.
Alejandro has not been arrested but is understood to be under investigation as he failed to report his wife’s death immediately.
In the harrowing video of Carolina’s death, the former pageant winner from Baja California can be seen walking to the back of her home wearing a white robe.
Several local outlets have reported Carolina was going to get her mother-in-law a drink of water at the time.
Herrera is then seen following her before several gunshots ring out.
The victim’s husband, Alejandro, walks into the frame just seconds later, carrying the couple’s baby.
“What was that?” he asks his mother in Spanish.
“What did you do, crazy?” an unidentified person’s voice is heard saying.
“Nothing,” his mum answers. “She made me angry.”
“What’s wrong with you? She’s my family,” Alejandro says, calmly.
His mum replies: “You’re mine and she stole you”.
Spanish media outlet Debate spoke to a close friend of Carolina, who said the victim had been hounded by her mother-in-law when she fell pregnant.
The friend said Carolina believed that Herrera “never liked her” and that she had “gotten worse” since the pregnancy.
It has also been suggested that a multimillion-pound inheritance could be behind the killing.
Carolina is believed to have received a large sum of money following the death of her father.
The high-profile killing has left the Mexican community reeling, sparking a wave of protests in ‘s Baja California over the weekend.
Carolina was born in San Diego, was crowned Miss Teen Universe for Baja California in 2017, and picked up several local titles in her home city of Ensenada.
