A HUGE wildfire has erupted at a popular golfclub popular with celebrities as temperatures soar to 38C today.

The blaze tore through Mawgan Porth Golf Club in Cornwall on Tuesday afternoon as fire crews descended on the scene.

Shocking images show a huge inferno with towering plumes of black smoke pouring into the sky.

Local residents were urged to avoid the area and to keep their windows and doors closed.

It comes as temperatures are as extreme heat warnings are issued across the country.

Magwan Porth is dubbed “Hollywood-on-Sea” due to the number of celebrities who own homes in the area.

Cate Blanchett, Jason Momoa and Stanley Tucci are said to own homes and frequent the celebrity hotspot.
