Houthis: 4 Killed, 39 Injured in Israeli strikes on Yemen after Ben Gurion missile attack

Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi rebels haave claimed that four people were killed and 39 others wounded during Israeli airstrikes on Monday that targeted key infrastructure in the country’s western Hodeida region.

According to the Houthis’ Al-Masirah TV station, which cited figures from the group’s health ministry, three civilians were killed and 35 injured at a cement factory in Bajil, while one person was killed and four wounded in a separate strike at the Hodeida port.

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that around 20 fighter jets carried out the retaliatory strikes, in response to a ballistic missile launched earlier by the Houthis that struck Ben Gurion Airport in central Israel.

The IDF said the targeted Hodeida port was being used “for the transfer of Iranian weapons, equipment for military needs, and other terror purposes.”;

The Bajil concrete factory, according to the Israeli military, was “an important economic resource for the Houthi terror regime,”; allegedly used in constructing tunnels and military installations.

“These strikes constitute a blow to the regime’s economy and its military buildup,”; the IDF said in a statement.

The airstrikes mark one of the most significant Israeli retaliatory operations in Yemen amid rising tensions in the region and deepening Houthi involvement in the broader Iran-Israel proxy conflict.

There has been no independent confirmation of the casualty figures, and humanitarian groups have yet to release statements on the impact of the strikes.
