Horse racing tips: ‘He has the class to win this’ – Templegate’s big 2-1 NAP goes at Chester

Published on May 07, 2025 at 10:59 PM

TEMPLEGATE tackles Wednesday’s high-class racing confident of banging in several winners.

Back a horse by clicking their odds below.

ABSURDE (3.05 Chester, nap)

He enjoyed this track when easily winning a Listed race over a similar trip last year. He won over hurdles 18 days ago so is fit and this decent ground suits. He was less than two lengths away in the Melbourne Cup so has class.

WAY OF STARS (4.45 Chester, nb)

He was an excellent third on comeback at Southwell last time despite being blocked in his run a couple of times. He improved for the step up to this distance and looks better than this level.

JER BATT (1.30 Chester, treble)

He looks solid despite his stall-nine draw. He doesn’t like to lead and was a cracking third in the Scottish Sprint Cup on comeback. He likes this trip and, granted a little luck, can score at a track where he’s gone well before.
