TEMPLEGATE takes on Thursday’s racing confident of building the bank for another big weekend.

KOSOMETSUKE (6.15 Southwell, nap)

Can end his run of seconds with a well deserved win. Roger Varian’s three-year-old has been hammering on the door and was again beaten less than a length in hot company at Ascot last time. His best form has come over this seven-furlong trip and quick ground is ideal.

FANTASY BELIEVER (8.15 Southwell, nb)

Went close at Chepstow’s Racing League night earlier this month when coming from a mile back. He can miss the break so moving up from 1m2f looks a wise move here. His last win was this race 12 months ago and he has every chance again from just 3lb higher in the weights.

HERCULEUS (6.25 Newbury, treble)

Has few miles on the clock and was a game winner at Nottingham two runs ago. He saw out the mile strongly there on decent ground and looks capable of better. He comes here on the back of a fair fourth at Goodwood last time where the track didn’t seem ideal. This more conventional course should be much more to his liking.

PADDY’S DAY (8.45 Southwell, Lucky 15)

Loves the all-weather with seven of his eight wins coming on the sand. He’s been successful five times this season including in good company at Newcastle three runs ago. He ran a cracker from a bad draw at Goodwood last time and looks dangerous off this mark with his rider Alex Jary taking off a valuable 5lb.
