Horse racing tips: Templegate NAP poised to strike under Classic-winning James Doyle at Kempton

TEMPLEGATE goes through Wednesday’s cards certain of finding a few winners.

Read on for our man’s tips, find his breakdown of the race of the day… and back a horse by clicking their odds.

HADLEY PARK (5.00 Kempton, nap)

He was an easy winner at Chelmsford before going down in a head-bobber at Wolverhampton when he was in front too soon. James Doyle can steer him to another victory.

ONE STEP BEYOND (3.25 Lingfield, nb)

He won twice in this grade before a creditable effort in stronger company last time. His best has come over this course and distance.

GLOBAL WARNING (6.00 Kempton, treble)

He ran right up to his best when second at Wolver 18 days ago and this race is no tougher.

Templegate’s race of the day

HIT it out of the Park in Kempton’s 5.00.

HADLEY PARK has run well on both handicap starts and saves his best for this trip. His form looks a cut above these rivals.

Emperor Zen can chase him home after a good third at Wolverhampton, while Optiva Star should be helped by tackling this mile for the first time on handicap debut.

OPTIVA STAR 4

STAR potential. Makes his handicap debut after showing some promise in maidens. Moving up to a mile should bring improvement. Place claims.

HADLEY PARK 5

WALK in Park. Impressive scorer on handicap debut at Chelmsford and just pipped on the nod at Wolver last time. He was in front for a long way there and looks open to improvement.

ZEPHINA 1

ZEP needs zip. Best efforts so far have come over 6f and she didn’t seem to stay this far here last time. This looks a tall order.

THUNDER BALL 3

THUNDER clap. Plenty of placed form and was a solid third here last time when staying on well. Has come down the weights a little and could easily hit the frame.

ELIGIUS 1

EL no yell. Not shown a lot so far but should find this easier than the Newmarket handicap he tackled last time. Drops in trip here and needs more.

BLUE UNIVERSE 3

UNI learner. Decent maiden form over 7f and shapes as though this extra furlong will suit. Not beaten far here last time and looks capable of better.

CORSICAN CAPER 3

CORS he can. Fair fourth on debut here before going close at Yarmouth. Stayed away from the field at York last time and is better than that tenth place suggests. Fair mark for handicap debut.

KIMNKATE 2

KATE must wait. Needed comeback from five months off when held here last time. It wasn’t a bad run but she needs to raise her game.

EMPEROR ZEN 4

ZEN warrior. Improved to finish third over course and distance last time when staying on up the straight. Stays off the same mark here and should be in the mix again.

TWILIGHT KISS 1

STOLEN Kiss. Not shown a lot on four runs but has come down 2lb for a modest handicap debut at Wolver. Needs the first-time cheekpieces to work.
