AN 18-year-old, who is eight months pregnant, has opened up about how a horrible infestation in her flat has left her homeless.
Eden uploaded a clip sharing how the home she is is “not an option anymore” due to cockroaches, and she can’t move in with her parents who live 150 miles away.

The pregnant woman, who lives in North London, said she only viewed her flat and didn’t shop around as “beggars can’t be choosers.”
On her @edennaomii account, Eden added: “If it’s liveable, I’ve got to say yes.”
She claims she overlooked seeing “a bug on the stairs” and didn’t really think anything of it, and wasn’t fully put off the flat despite it looking “absolutely awful” inside.
Eden explained: “Like I said, 8 months pregnant, about to have a baby.
“So I was with my aunt, I was like I’m just going to take it, like I don’t have a choice. Moved all my stuff in, painted the whole flat, like pretty much by myself.
“My family came down and helped me a little bit but I’m doing everything.”
However, things took a turn for the worst when she was painting the kitchen ceiling and noticed something crawling out of the corner of her eye.
When she looked up what she found, she was horrified to discover it was a cockroach.
Eden shared: “I can see in the picture that it’s a cockroach but don’t Google cockroach infestation because you will actually have a heart attack and a breakdown.
“For every one you see there’s a million in the walls, you can’t get rid of them.”
She immediately told her landlord and he said he would ‘see what he could do.”
However, it wasn’t great news when the exterminator arrived.
Eden shared: “He’s paid for someone to come out and do a treatment.
“They’ve come, they said ‘listen, it’s , Stradburn, Roadhouse, it’s like loads of houses all together.’
“He basically said unless you were to tent this whole row, including all of the shops, no matter what you do they’re going to come back.
“So your best case scenario is to just eradicate them from this flat by putting a gel down and then the cockroaches will eat the gel, they’ll die and then the other cockroaches will eat that cockroach and then eventually that will die.
“But they will come back and you’re just going to have to keep redoing the treatment.”
Doubtful that the treatment would work, she followed his instructions.

Cockroach return
But it wasn’t long before she noticed the cockroaches were still arriving in her flat, with her sister seeing one come up the shower.
She called the landlord and exterminator and said it hasn’t worked, and they came when she was at work and “sprayed the communal area.”
This led to her opening the door to “hundreds of them dying on their back.” It was the final straw.
I would rather stay at the bus, I’d rather be homeless. I swear like I can’t do it

Eden said she asked her neighbour downstairs if they had noticed the cockroaches, and they confirmed that they had complained six years ago but nothing had been solved.
The TikToker added the woman had said you “just get used to it” and they “don’t do anything or bother you.”
End of the road
Eden was shocked and said: “Their presence is bothering me.
“So I was like right ‘this is going to be me, like this is me because she had two kids running around her – this is me in six years’ time.’
“I’m going to be at one, at peace with the cockroaches, and I can’t do that.
“I closed the door, I said this is me done.
“I would rather stay at the bus, I’d rather be homeless. I swear like I can’t do it.”
She moved out to live with her aunt and went crying to her housing office and showed them the video.
However, she was told that as she had signed a contract there was nothing they could do.”
Thankfully the landlord finally agreed to terminate the contact early, but she had to move out the same day.
Many people were horrified with her tale, with one saying: “why was i convinced we didn’t get cockroaches in the uk?? new fear unlocked.”
Another added: “this is things i have nightmares about omg.”
How to prevent cockroaches
THE most effective way to avoid a cockroach infestation is to maintain good hygiene practices.
- Clean up food and drink spills promptly
- Wipe down surfaces frequently
- Pick up pet food right after your pets finish eating
- Keep all food stored in sealed containers
- Avoid leaving standing water in sinks, buckets, or other containers
- Rinse cans, bottles, and plastics before placing them in recycling
- Reduce clutter—fewer hiding spots mean fewer cockroaches. Pay special attention to removing stacks of newspapers, magazines, or cardboard boxes stored on cupboard floors
- Seal any possible entry points, such as wall cracks or gaps around doors
