A HOLLYOAKS star has QUIT the soap after two years on the show – and his final scenes have already aired.
Last week the soap left on a cliffhanger when a gun was pointed at Rex, played by Jonny Labey, in the garage, and viewers then heard a loud bang.

But in tonight’s episode of , which has already dropped on the streaming platform, Darren was seen arriving at the garage, only to find a dead body on the floor.
It is later confirmed that the deceased person was Rex.
The episode ended with a distressed Ste, who Rex is in a relationship with, being told that his partner was dead.
But who shot him remains a mystery.

Actor Jonny joined Hollyoaks in the summer of 2024 as Rex Gallagher, a former gang member and the son of Fraser and Grace Black.
During his time on the soap he has been involved in huge storylines which included .
Rex’s relationship with Ste has also been one of the core plots the character was involved in.
When he landed the part, Jonny, who was previously in , shared his excitement at bagging the role of Rex.

Speaking in June 2024, the Soap star told Digital Spy : “I had an audition for Hollyoaks a couple of years back, but I think something else came up.
“I know that characters were being developed and what they’ve come up with for Rex is terrifying but also brilliant!
“It’s something I can really sink my teeth into.”
Continuing, Jonny said:”For the audition, I really had some fun and played around with just being the bad guy. It’s a nice new flavour for me. I was really pleased when I got the part. It’s a gift, because every actor wants these sorts of roles.”
According to his grid the actor has already been busy working on his next role, and has shot a short film.
