A HIKER who plunged 650ft to his death from a mountain was found after vanishing without a trace, sparking a huge search.
The body of the 19-year-old was discovered on the German mountain’s treacherous north face after he disappeared overnight.

His silence had sparked a frantic hunt after he failed to turn up for work that morning.
Worried colleagues raised the alarm when every call and message to the teenager went unanswered.
His devastated family then reported him missing as fears for his safety grew.
Colleagues were able to provide police with his last known location, triggering a major search in the Berchtesgaden region.
More than 50 emergency workers raced to scour the area around the 4,334ft Fuderheuberg mountain.
An avalanche rescue team, search and specialist crews using thermal imaging joined the desperate operation.
A police spokesperson said: “According to current information, it is assumed that the deceased had already fallen down a roughly 200-meter-high (650ft) gully the previous evening and sustained fatal injuries.”

The Alpine Task Force of the Piding border police is now investigating exactly how the fatal fall happened.
It comes after a shortly after he triumphantly posed up for a photo on the mountain top.
Caio Rocha Aguiar Arrabal, 44, fell from a Brazilian mountain trail after climbing onto a rock formation at the summit to take a photo.
Horrifying footage filmed by a woman in his hiking group showed the moment the 44-year-old suffered the fatal fall.
The bearded hiker is seen precariously standing in a narrow gap on a huge rock on June 28.
He begins climbing down backwards before turning to face forwards towards the mountain’s edge.
Moments later, the woman filming chillingly warns him to be careful.
But as he continues his descent, he suddenly loses his footing and slips over the edge.
Terrified onlookers can be heard screaming as he plunges down the cliff.
According to the Military Police, Mr Arrabal fell 492ft from the rock at the top of the trail.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene at around 11.40am and launched a search operation across the treacherous terrain.
