THIS is the shocking moment a hero shop worker bravely fought off a machete-wielding robber with a hockey stick.
The masked thug stormed into the Crest Mini Market in Bestwood, , before pulling the huge blade from his clothing.
CCTV footage shows the armed robber repeatedly lunging with the weapon over the counter.
Blows rained down on him as the thug relentlessly went on the attack.
But the brave worker refused to be intimidated and was caught on camera battering the crook with a stick.
He managed to parry a few blows of the machete with the sports equipment.
The yob was seen in the video dressed in all black with what appeared to be a balaclava under his hoodie.
Footage then shows the crook scrambling around, knocking over a number of displays and items.
He trades blows a few more times with the brave shopkeeper who stood his ground.
The thief eventually fled with a bottle of vodka following the terrifying robbery which took place at 9.10am on July 4.
The footage then came to an end as more items tumbled from the shelves.
Cops said that the shop worker escaped without physical injury but was left badly shaken.
Police are now hunting for the hooded attacker and hope a distinctive tattoo on his left arm could help unmask him.
Crimestoppers has put up a reward of up to £5,000 for information given exclusively to the charity which leads to his arrest and conviction.
Detective Constable Thomas Lowe, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was an unpleasant ordeal for the victim and we are determined to find the person responsible.
“Detectives have been supporting the victim while carrying out a thorough into this incident.
“We work closely alongside Crimestoppers and we’re grateful that the charity is offering a reward of up to £5,000 for anyone with information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the man responsible.
“Please help us take this offender off our streets.”
Lydia Patsalides, East Midlands Regional Manager at Crimestoppers, said: “Going to work should never mean facing something like this.
“This was a frightening experience for someone simply doing their job in a shop at the heart of the community.
“We know it will have unsettled people living and working nearby.
“Somebody out there knows who did this. It might be something you saw that morning, something you’ve heard since, or a nagging feeling about someone you know.
“That tattoo may well be the detail that jogs the memory. Whatever it is, you don’t have to carry it on your own.”
