Heroic M&S Driver Douses Blazing Van Fire on Busy UK Motorway with Extinguisher!

THIS is the moment a “hero” M&S lorry driver calmly put out a blazing van fire on a busy motorway with an extinguisher.

A white Partner was filmed with flames and thick black smoke erupting from the bonnet after stopping on the M25 at Junction 21 near Watford in Hertfordshire.

In the video, the food truck driver can be seen walking to the cab’s passenger side and pulling out a fire extinguisher.

He then stands about a foot away with no protective equipment and puts out the inferno.

At one point, he is even engulfed in a cloud of white smoke as he douses the flames on the hard shoulder.

The unnamed driver was hailed for his quick thinking on social media.

On , West London and Southall page UB1UB2 wrote: “No word on what caused it or whether anyone was hurt, but fair to say the van driver owes him a shop at M&S.

“This is your Percy Pig . Absolute legend or what?”

After the clip went viral, Adit Gupta responded: “In a time where most would drive past while pulling out their phone to record it, this man had the courage to do the right thing.”

Toni Kirby couldn’t resist riffing on the food chain’s famous slogan, writing: “This isn’t just a lorry driver…this is an M&S lorry driver.”

Summing up the thoughts of many, Syed Shah wrote: “Absolute legend and immense respect to him. Not all heroes wear capes.”

Jane Mackie said simply: “What a hero.”

Kieron White added a note of caution, writing: “Nice and calm, no panic hopefully the bosses don’t reprimand him.”

Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that the professionals were called to help put out the blaze shortly before 6pm on Thursday, August 20.

The were called but didn’t need to attend.

Marks and Spencer declined to comment.
