A MAN who was tragically killed in a car crash has been pictured for the first time as his family pay tribute to their “deeply loved son”.

The pair were travelling in a blue Land Rover northbound on Holme Road, Humberside, just before 10pm on Sunday when they crashed into the van coming in the other direction.

Emergency services raced to the scene and the driver of the Transit Fan was taken to hospital and treated for “life changing” injuries.

Patrick was declared dead at the scene alongside the 55-year-old man he was with.

In tribute to Patrick his family said: “Patrick was a deeply loved son, grandson and proud new daddy taken from us far too soon.

“His kindness, laughter and fierce love for his family and friends will be carried in our hearts forever. Rest In Peace ❤️ Miss you, sithee xxx”

“A spokesperson for Humberside Police said: “A 27-year-old man who died following a road traffic collision on Holme Road, in Holme-on-Spalding-Moor, on Sunday, 18 January has been named by his family as Patrick Shaughnessy.

“At around 9.55pm on Sunday, 18 January, it was reported that a blue Land Rover was travelling northbound on the A614 from Howden when it is believed to have been in collision with a white Ford Transit van, travelling in the opposite direction.

“Emergency services attended and two occupants of the Land Rover, Patrick and a 55-year-old man, were pronounced deceased on the scene.

“The driver of the van was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that are believed to be life changing.
