Former Manchester United star, Paul Scholes has kicked against Arsenal’s £51m move for Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi.

According to the former England midfielder, Zubimendi didn’t impress during Man United’s Europa League win against Real Sociedad.

Zubimendi, has agreed personal terms with Arsenal ahead of a summer move.

The Gunners look set to beat off competition from Real Madrid and Barcelona to land the 26-year-old star.

The Premier League North London club already have a deal in place for Zubimendi and only an announcement is left.

“What hole is Martin Zubimendi going to fill? I don’t see a hole there,”;; Scholes said on The Overlap.

“I think Declan Rice can do that role [defensive midfielder]. I saw Zubimendi against United for Sociedad and I was not impressed.

“That is maybe where I am coming from in terms of doubting he can fill that hole.”;;
