Chairman of the Senate Committee on Electoral Matters, Barrister Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, has declared that the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin brought dignity to the traditional institution in the ancient city.
Alli, who represents Oyo South Senatorial District, made this declaration in a statement issued by his media office on Monday.
DAILY POST reported that the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin, in the early hours of Monday.
Alli who doubles as the Ekaarun Balogun of Ibadanland while reacting, expressed sorrow over the death of the traditional ruler.
The APC chieftain described the passing of the traditional ruler as a monumental loss to Ibadanland, Oyo State and the country in general.
“A symbol of wisdom, peace and continuity, whose brief but impactful reign brought renewed dignity and strength to the Ibadan traditional institution.
“As the Senator representing Oyo South Senatorial District and Ekarun Balogun of Ibadanland, I join the entire Ibadanland in mourning the departure of a rare royal figure,”; the statement said.
