TNT Sports have announced a major switch in their coverage of sporting events on streaming platforms.
The broadcaster has been integrated with since 2023, but has made a huge switch.

replaced BT Sport in July 2023 in a joint venture between BT Sport and Warner Bros Discovery.
With this switch, TNT’s broadcasting in the UK is under the same umbrella as in North America, where TNT already broadcasts the .
Warner Bros Discovery already own Eurosport, which merged with TNT Sports in February 2025 to bring all of their sports content together – TNT now broadcasts , cycling, tennis and last month’s .
What is HBO Max?
HBO Max is Warner Bros Discovery’s dedicated streaming platform, originally launching in the in 2020.
HBO Max is the place to watch blockbuster films such as Sinners and , which both won Oscars recently, as well as hugely popular series, including The Wire, The Sopranos and Game of Thrones.
The platform will also house all of Warner Bros’ content, including film franchises and DC, as well as sitcoms such as ‘Friends’ and ‘The Big Bang Theory’.
In the US, it already streams live coverage of the NBA, , and NASCAR.
When does it launch in the UK?
HBO Max has launched in the UK and Ireland TODAY on Thursday, March 26.
All TNT Sports content that fans can usually watch on Discovery+ will be moved to HBO Max.
The UK and Ireland are the last countries to get access to the platform, after it started to be rolled out across Europe in 2021.
How much is HBO Max in the UK?
There are a few different pricing plans available for the streaming service, with each giving the user different access.
For sports fans who only want access to TNT Sports, the price will be the same as Discovery+ at £30.99 every month.
However, there is also a saver plan available on a 12-month minimum term at £25.99 instead – this effectively means a £60 discount for the year.
Warner Bros Discovery also announced discounted plans for viewers who want to subscribe to HBO Max’s entertainment content, as well as TNT Sports – both of which are also for a minimum of 12 months.
One of these is the ‘Standard with Ads’ option at £27.99 per month, and the other ‘Premium tier with TNT Sports’ is available at £34.99 per month.
The saver plans will only be available via hbomax.com when the service launches in the UK.
Will my Discovery+ sports subscription be stopped?
No, if you have a Discovery+ account, your subscription will be continued on HBO Max.
In order to access HBO Max, simply download the app and sign in using the same details you would with Discovery+ – this is the same for O2 users.
If you watch TNT Sports through Amazon Prime Video, your subscription will continue as normal under the name ‘TNT Sports’ on your Prime Video account.
For Amazon Appstore or Roku users, your Discovery+ TNT Sports subscription will end on your next billing date after February 21 – when HBO Max launches, you will be able to subscribe to keep watching all of the same sports content.
People who are subscribed to the Discovery+ Entertainment plan, which doesn’t include any sports, will not be affected by this change.
