HARRY KANE got a harsh reminder from former teammate Cristian Romero that he is no longer a Spurs player.

Romero left a little extra in on Kane on multiple occasions as Spurs faced Bayern Munich in a pre-season friendly.

The German giants ended up running away with a 4-0 victory, but the most lasting effect of the game may be a sore couple of days to come for Kane.

It took Spurs’ Argentinian centre-back just six minutes to catch Kane the first time, charging through the back of the Tottenham legend as he received the ball.

A 12th-minute goal for the England captain did nothing to calm the fury of his ex-teammate.

The 27-year-old earned a yellow card in the 41st minute of the friendly for a cynical pull on Kane as he attempted to launch a counter attack.

Romero’s seemingly targeted fouling on Kane would continue undeterred in the second half.

He darted in front of the 32-year-old in the 58th minute of the game, completely missing the ball as the pair clattered together at the edge of the box.

Kane had to take a moment to regather himself after the collision, which had sent him sprawling to the ground.

Fans of the club were quick to point out the cynical treatment of the Spurs legend on social media.

One such comment on X read: “Romero bro, take it easy on Kane? It’s a friendly you nutter. We still want him to come back?”

Romero is no stranger to the dark arts, nor to yellow cards, having picked up 27 in his 100 Premier League appearances for Spurs to date.

He captained Spurs in the match, following the departure of club captain Son Heung-Min to LAFC, meaning some of his misguided gusto may have been a result of wanting to lead by example.

Whether his example helped the team or not, the end result was somewhat embarrassing for the Lilywhites.

Kingsley Coman gave Bayern a 2-0 lead in the 61st minute, before late goals from teenagers Lennart Karl and Jonah Kusi-Asare sealed a huge margin of victory for the German Champions.
