- MAFS Couples That Have Stood the Test of Time
WELCOME to my MAFS column! Each week, I’ll be sharing my brutally honest opinions on the new brides and grooms, along with all the behind-the-scenes gossip from someone who has experienced the reality TV rollercoaster firsthand.
Let’s jump right in... there’s already a lot of drama to discuss.

Before we dive into the retreat, let’s rewind a bit — back to Love/Hate Week and the dinner party.
While I believe the couples this year have been poorly matched, I must give some credit. It’s refreshing to see how much they’re calling each other out, being honest, and providing genuinely valuable lessons — real tools that the couples can use throughout the experiment.
And honestly, as viewers, we can learn a lot from this as well. It’s fantastic to see the experts actually providing their expertise.
Grace and Ashley
For them… nothing seems to be working.
Some couples are learning and progressing beautifully; others are still trying to figure out what their partner needs.
We love to see growth — when it happens!
Enter Joe...
Now, someone who isn’t fully engaging in the experiment? Joe.
He’s just in and out — with all these dramatic EastEnders-style car door slams. Entertaining? Absolutely. Productive? Not so much.
Of course, he’s dealing with a death in the family, which is tragic, and no one would wish that on anyone.
However, apart from that, Joe is teaching the nation a lesson in how to love bomb a woman.
I genuinely feel for Maeve. We’ve all somewhat overlooked the fact that these two were mismatched from the start — they were never meant to work. I don’t believe Joe ever loved her; I think he merely said it.

He needs to step up, be honest, and stop leading her on with false hope.
Every woman can relate to what Maeve is experiencing — thinking she’s found a good guy, seeing all that potential, only to realize he’s pulling away while still holding on just enough to make her question herself.
I’ve been there. Most of us have.
Joe’s “bad boy trying to change” storyline has reverted to old habits, and honestly, it’s becoming dull. You’re either in or you’re out, mate.
Maeve – it’s time to go home, see your child, and call it a day. It’s sad because we all wanted them to prove us wrong… but this is just a classic love bomb scenario, and it’s not improving.
Julia-Ruth and Devarni
The retreat is giving me serious PTSD.
Julia-Ruth — fair play, it’s as if you watched my season and thought, “Touching someone’s shoe isn’t enough drama; I’ll go all in.”
And now she’s openly admitting she has feelings for someone else’s husband and wants to pursue him. Bold move.
It’s uncomfortable to watch because we’re clearly not seeing the full story behind the scenes.
