Hamas-run Gaza rescue agency says 80 killed since dawn in Israeli strikes

Published on May 14, 2025 at 03:32 PM

The Hamas-run civil defense agency in Gaza has reported that at least 80 people have been killed in Israeli airstrikes across the territory since dawn on Tuesday, with the northern region bearing the brunt of the attacks.

According to civil defense official Mohammed al-Mughayyir, “The number of martyrs killed in the ongoing Israeli bombardment of the Gaza Strip since dawn today has risen to 80, including 59 in the northern Gaza Strip.”;;

The escalation comes amid intensifying Israeli military operations across Gaza, particularly in the north where the army says it is targeting Hamas infrastructure and militant positions.

The latest strikes have left widespread destruction, with emergency responders struggling to reach those trapped under rubble.

Israeli authorities have yet to comment on the specific operations mentioned, though they have previously stated that military actions in Gaza are aimed at eliminating threats posed by Hamas militants and preventing rocket attacks on Israeli territory.
