His passing brought an inevitable conclusion to the duo's successful partnership, with Si left to complete one last show titled.
Previously, Si, 59, mentioned how the pair were well-known for their adventures.
It has now been confirmed that his new project, Britain’s Favourite Railway Stations with Si King, will premiere next year on January 8.
Promotional material for the series indicates that “Si King, Siddy Holloway, and Damion Burrows will explore the remarkable spaces that extend beyond just catching a train, diving into the hidden realms where heritage, technology, and community come together.”
As a train enthusiast, Si will connect with the staff who ensure the railway network operates smoothly and effectively.
He will also investigate examples of the UK's engineering marvels and the extensive railway network comprising over 2,600 stations in his first series for Channel 4.
Clemency Green, Senior Commissioning Editor at Channel 4, remarked on the new show: “As the rail network celebrates its 200th anniversary, this series will highlight the best of our nation’s engineering legacy in a fresh manner.
“We’re thrilled that Si will be presenting his first series for More4, and Yeti will undoubtedly create a captivating series that viewers will love to immerse themselves in.”
Anna Davies, Executive Producer at Yeti Television, added: “There’s something distinctly British about our affection for railways – typically, it’s the trains that receive the spotlight, not the stations.
“Countless fascinating stories await discovery in both large and small stations, featuring unique characters who manage them and rich histories, and Si is the perfect guide for this journey.”
Reflecting on television projects following The Hairy Bikers, Si expressed: “It will be different because that was Dave and me.
“With him no longer here, it must be different.
“I want it to be different.”
