Published on May 29, 2025 at 12:50 PM

Heavily armed gunmen launched a nighttime attack on the palace of the Sangarin Dari, Mr. Emmanuel Omanji, in Kokona Local Government Area of Nasarawa State and abducted the traditional ruler.

Reports reveal the bandits stormed the palace on Wednesday night, firing sporadic gunshots and whisking the monarch away to an unknown destination.

The Nasarawa state police command has confirmed the abduction.

Spokersperson of the command, Ramhan Nansel revealed that the Commissioner of Police, Shetima Jauro Mohammed, has mobilized a team of operatives, including the kidnapping unit, military, and vigilantes, to track down the perpetrators and secure the rulers’ release.

The police are urging anyone with useful information that could aid the rescue operation to come forward and cooperate with the authorities.
