BBC Radio 1’s Greg James has revealed the “horrible” reason he’s absent from today’s Breakfast Show and has admitted he “can’t stop crying”.
He told how he and wife , 43, are “completely floored” by the turn of events, which he dubbed “so f**king sad”.

‘s fans will be all too familiar with his dog Barney, affectionately known as Barn, who featured heavily on his page and recently celebrated his eighth birthday.
Though sadly the adorable pooch has now been put to rest.
The much-loved DJ, 40, uploaded an image of his beloved pet to his grid with a hugely emotional tribute which read: “I’m sorry to bring such horrible news but we had to put our lovely Barn to sleep earlier today.
“I can’t really get my head around it. But he was peaceful, we were with him at home in the garden in the sunshine and I can’t stop crying.

“I know how loved this unbelievably daft farty brilliant dog was and I adored sharing him with everyone on here but I hope you understand why comments are off and can I just ask you to not pile in with DMs particularly for Bella for a bit please.
“We’re completely floored by it and I can’t believe our little mate has gone and it’s very real and very raw and just so f**king sad. He was the best.
“Lots of love xx”
Greg then confirmed the presenter switch-up and put: “Ps. Not on the show tomorrow obvs x”

Recently Greg told how Barney – who had his own Instagram page – turned eight.
He uploaded a snap showing their dog and a candle before he and Bella sung to him.
After blowing out his candle, Barney’s treat was a big lick of an ice cream – before he chomped the whole thing.
In the caption, Greg explained how they came to own their pet and wrote: “Happy Birthday to the greatest idiot in the world.
“Eight years ago he didn’t know we existed and I’ll be forever grateful to the b******s that gave him to Battersea which eventually led him to us.
“He’s ruined our lives in the best possible way and I wouldn’t change any of it”.
