AURORAS ENCORA famously stunned the racing world when landing the National at odds of 66-1 in 2013.
Ridden by Ryan Mania and trained by Sue Smith, the outsider powered clear to win by nine lengths in Aintree’s famous race.

J Parkinson & S Smith Racing announced the sad news on X, paying tribute to the 2013 Aintree hero.
The post read: “It is with great sadness that we share the passing of 2013 Grand National winner, Auroras Encore 23.
“He achieved what every owner, trainer dreams of. After his racing days were over, he spent his retirement here with us.
“Rest easy, champion. You will always be remembered.”
