Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has charged newly appointed officials to approach their duties with diligence, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to the people.
Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony of new commissioners and special advisers, the Governor enjoined the appointees to “roll up their sleeves and hit the ground running,”; stressing the urgency and importance of their responsibilities.
The governor stated that the new appointees have been called to serve the good people of Kaduna State because they all possess the skills and competences to contribute effectively to the rebuilding and renewing of the state.
Reflecting on his administration’s track record over the past two years, he noted that Kaduna had made significant progress in infrastructure, healthcare, education, poverty reduction, and security partnerships despite daunting challenges.
Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to its development goals, the Governor stated, “We are determined to finish well. You are therefore expected to help push our administration to leave lasting legacies.”;
He encouraged teamwork and innovation among the new appointees to think outside the box while keeping the box in view and to always prioritize the interests of Kaduna’s citizens.
Governor Sani also warned against isolated approaches to governance, saying, “We must avoid working in silos. If we operate independently with limited communication or collaboration, success will be hindered.”;
Among those sworn in was Barrister Gloria Ibrahim, the newly appointed Commissioner for Youth Development, who expressed both humility and determination in her acceptance speech said, “I am humbled by the privilege to serve as a commissioner for youth development of Kaduna State. I pledge to uphold the trust reposed in me by implementing youth-focused policies that align with the SUSTAIN Agenda of this administration.”;
Barrister Ibrahim promised to adopt a data-driven, inclusive, and accountable approach, and called for collaboration across sectors.
