Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has charged the newly appointed Emir of Gudi, His Royal Highness Alhaji Ismaila Ahmed Gadaka, to champion peace, unity, and progress for the people of his emirate, the state, and the nation.

The Governor, in a statement by his Focal Person, Digital and Strategic Communications, Yusuf Ali, gave the charge during the formal presentation of the letter of appointment to the new Emir of Gudi Emirate Council. The Honourable Commissioner for Higher Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Muhammad Bello Kawuwa, presented the letter on behalf of the Governor.

“Delivering the Governor’s message, Prof. Kawuwa highlighted the critical role of traditional institutions in fostering community development, resolving conflicts, and preserving cultural heritage. He urged the new Emir to carry out these responsibilities with fairness, dignity, and the fear of God.”

The brief but significant ceremony was attended by key government officials, including the Honourable Commissioner for Works, Engr. Umar Wakil; Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ibrahim Jajere; and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Saleh Samanja.

“Also in attendance was the Emir of Fika and Chairman of the Yobe State Council of Chiefs, His Royal Highness Dr. Muhammadu Abali Ibn Muhammadu Idrissa, as well as the Emirs of Fune and Shelleng,” the statement added.

According to the statement, the new Emir expressed deep appreciation to Governor Buni for the trust reposed in him and pledged to serve with honesty, dedication, and the best interest of his people.

Recall that Hon. Ismaila Ahmed Gadaka, a former member of the House of Representatives, was appointed as the new Emir of Gudi following the passing of Alhaji Isa Bunuwa Madugu Ibn Khaji, who died last Thursday.
