Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has announced a revision of the curfew hours imposed on the movement of motorcycles and tricycles within the Minna metropolis.

According to the governor, the new curfew will now run from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM daily, starting Monday, May 5. He explained that the adjustment follows recent security updates from the state’s security committee.

“Niger State Governor, farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago has reviewed the curfew time in Minna metropolis.”; “The adjustment which is effective from today will now commence from 8 o’clock in the night to 6 o’clock in the morning,”; he said in a brief statement by the office of the Chief Press Secretary on his X handle.

Bago, known for his pro-agriculture policies and referred to as the “farmer governor,”; had previously urged residents to remain law-abiding, assuring them that government policies are geared toward their safety and well-being.

It will be recalled that the governor had earlier enforced a 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM restriction on motorcycles and tricycles across Minna in response to rising incidents of thuggery and insecurity.
