The Gombe Geographic Information Systems (GOGIS) has declared a final 10-day deadline for landowners in the newly redesigned Shehu Abubakar District to finalize their recertification and obtain their allocation letters.

In a statement to the media, GOGIS Director General, Kabiru Usman Hassan, cautioned that failing to meet this deadline would result in the loss of the land.

He clarified that this initiative was a result of the cancellation of Rights of Occupancy in the previous BAP 4 Layout under Executive Order No. 007 of 2024, which facilitated land reforms and the redesignation of the area as Shehu Abubakar District.

According to the Director General, the documentation and verification process began in September 2024, while the issuance of new allocation letters commenced in November 2025, prioritizing individuals impacted by the revocation.

The extension, authorized by the Gombe State Government, will take place from January 5 to January 16, 2026, and is applicable only to eligible allottees who participated in the earlier verification but were unable to complete the process.
