BILLY HORSCHEL faces missing the rest of the golf season after revealing that he needs surgery.
The star could also be absent from the as he will go under the knife next week.


, 38, is currently 24th in the world rankings and could have made his bow in the cross-Atlantic tournament.
He would not have automatically qualified, but could have made a case to be a captain’s pick.
But the Grant-Valkaria native is now set for a spell off the course following surgery.
He revealed the necessity for medical help on social media.
He wrote: “Health update. After consulting with doctors and my team, I have decided to have right hip surgery early next week out in Colorado.
“It’s an unfortunate situation with so many great events left on the calendar but this is a preventative measure.
“I’m already itching to start rehab, get back to practicing and I look forward to returning to the course sometime around late summer/early fall.
“I would like to thank my family, friends, sponsors and partners for their continued support of me.
“I will share positive news on my rehab as I progress and I look forward to seeing everyone at the course again soon.”;
Horschel is an eight-time winner and resident at Ponte Vedra Beach.


The superfan is recognised with his club-themed golf bag that he takes around the course.

He tied in second place in the British Open in 2024 and has earned four top 25 finishes and two top 10s this season.
Throughout his career, he has earned a stunning £31million from prize money having turned pro back in 2009.
