A HALLOWEEN fan was mortified when a police officer turned up thinking there had been a murder after a woman spotted a creepy prop in their garden.
The user had used a fake corpse wrapped in bin bags for a spooky display.

The eerie prop, which was hanging from a tree, was just one element of the display that also included a fake graveyard, a fake skeleton, as well as spiderweb.
According to the social media user, no one in the local area went all out with decorations, which they said was “sad” to see.
But while it all may have seemed like innocent fun, one woman certainly didn’t take it that way – and allegedly contacted the authorities after seeing the spooky decorations.
Concerned, the woman told there was “a dead body hanging from a tree”.
But when an officer showed up, the two were left in stitches after realising what was going on, a resurfaced post on the platform claimed.
The Redditor said: “Got the cops called on my Halloween Decoration this morning, they got a call from a woman reporting, ‘a dead body hanging from a tree’.
“lol the officer and I had a good laugh about it and he said I wasn’t doing anything wrong and could keep it up.
“Happy Halloween Everyone!”
The post, which also included a video of the creepy display, has since racked up dozens of comments – and it is a bag of mixed reactions.
While some said they loved the decorations, others were less impressed.
“All for a spooky Halloween and I get that the body is hanging upside down but this feels in poor taste,” thought one critic.
Meanwhile, someone else was a fan of the prop, writing: “Lmaooo, I love this. I did this too and have the body in a wheelbarrow on its way to the grave yard. The neighbours love it!”
“WTH! People just don’t get it…It’s Halloween Season. Looks Great!” a third agreed.
“omg this is literal perfection. I’m so in love. keep it up!!” a fellow Redditor chimed in.
With Halloween around the corner, many Brits will be racing to get their homes ready for the spooky season. But did you know there are some ?
Joseph Lane, who works as a property expert at Mortgage Lane , previously shared a list habits to rethink ahead of Halloween that could put your at risk – and according to him, keeping lights on all night is one of them.
Experienced burglars often recognise that a constantly lit house may indicate that the occupants are away, relying solely on lights as a deterrent.
“Use timers or smart lighting solutions to simulate normal household activity,” advises Joseph.
“This can help . The goal is to make your home appear occupied and active, not simply illuminated.”
Additionally, when you’re decorating your house for Halloween, be careful what you put in your windows or yard. If you have expensive stuff like projectors or fancy sound systems, they may attract burglars.
“The idea is to have fun with Halloween without advertising your home’s contents to potential thieves.”
The expert revealed that while those big, bouncy Halloween decorations can be fun, they also make ideal hiding places for burglars. If they’re blocking your windows or doors, it’s harder for neighbours to see what’s happening.
