A TEENAGE girl was reportedly sexually assaulted by an unknown man while she was walking along a path as police launch probe.
The girl was walking in Rugby on Wednesday when the man allegedly approached and sexually assaulted her at around 10.15pm.
are appealing for witnesses and said the suspect has dark brown hair and he was wearing black trousers with a dark-coloured t-shirt.
A spokesperson for Warwickshire Police said: “We’re investigating a sexual assault that took place in Brownsover last night (Wednesday).”
They added: “If you were in the area or can provide any information, please report it online quoting incident number 511 of 8 July.“
Detective Inspector Nicola Norris added: “We received a report that a teenage girl had been walking along a path from Boughton Road around 10.15pm.
“A man unknown to her and described as having short, brown hair wearing black trousers, with a dark-coloured T-shirt is understood to have approached and sexually assaulted her.
“You can expect to see our officers out in the community over the coming days as they try to identify the person responsible.
“Please come and chat to them if you have any concerns.”
