Girl, 15, ‘raped in children’s play area’ at UK park as man, 27, arrested

A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of raping a 15-year-old girl in a popular park.

The alleged attack on the schoolgirl was reported to have happened before 10pm in Poole Park, , on Thursday.

Cops said that the 15-year-old girl had reported being raped in the children’s play area by a man after they had met earlier in the evening.

Dorset confirmed that a 27-year-old man from Carshalton in , has since been arrested and remains in police custody.

A police cordon was placed around the play area while forensics team examined the scene.

The force added that officers are carrying out increased patrols in the area.

Cops encouraged anyone with concerns to speak with an officer.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “Dorset Police received a report at 9.57pm on Thursday 25 September 2025 that a 15-year-old girl was raped in the area of Poole Park by a man she had met earlier in the evening.

“A detailed into the report is being carried out by detectives and specialist officers are supporting the victim.

“A cordon has been put in place to allow for an examination of the area to be carried out.

“A 27-year-old man from Carshalton in has been arrested on suspicion of rape.

“He remains in police custody at this time.

“Officers are carrying out increased patrols in the area and we would encourage anyone with concerns to please speak with an officer.”
