The huge wooden column’s center was believed to have been rotten after being installed in 2022.
The tragic girl had only been at the temple for around 15 minutes before the massive pole collapsed and struck her.
Her heartbroken family said the girl’s grandad used to maintain the temple before he suffered a stroke.
Ever since, responsibility for taking care of the building had been divided among the family.
Local cops ruled out foul play, instead saying the death was the result of an accident.
They also appealed to anyone with information to come forward.
Authorities are still probing the exact circumstances of the horror ordeal.
The temple is located in Tanjong Sepat, near Kuala Langat, Selangor – with the terrifying death occurring on Tuesday.
Local cops said they were first alerted at 8:35pm local time.
Police said: “She suffered serious injuries to her head.
“It is understood that she had visited the temple with her family.”
Her devastated family paid tribute to the youngster, with her dad saying he hoped there would be justice.
He said their family of five had served the temple daily before the tragedy.
The dad said: “Our family has done nothing wrong, and we go to the temple every day to make offerings, so why didn’t the gods protect [my daughter]?”
He said his daughter was an excellent student who won several scholarships and had an exciting future.
He also accused the supplier of the wooden beams of being responsible for the harrowing ordeal.
The heartbroken dad called for a proper and thorough investigation into the wooden pole.
