Eliminate Fridge Odors and Make It Shine with This 80p Kitchen Essential You Probably Have on Hand!

AS we head into a new year you might want to give your home a bit of a deep clean.

And after feasting on delicious food over the festive period, your fridge might be one of the first things to tackle.

Luckily, cleaning whizz Chantel Mila, better known on social media as @mama_mila, took to to share the trick she swears by.

Rather than spending a fortune on posh cleaning products, the cleaning pro revealed she uses a kitchen cupboard staple that works out at just pennies per use.

Simply mix together one cup of water, 1/2 cup of white vinegar, and a few drops vanilla extract in a spray bottle.

This will “clean tough grime from your fridge and make it smell amazing,” the mum explained in the viral clip.

You can buy a spray bottle from most supermarkets, or simply reuse an old one – just make sure to give it a good clean before refilling it with the mixture.

The white vinegar will work to neutralise smells as the added vanilla extract will give your fridge a scented boost.

And if you don’t already have vanilla extract in your kitchen cupboards, don’t worry, you can pick a bottle up for as little as 80p from , although it will be available in most supermarkets too.

Meanwhile, Isabella Forgione, a small appliances expert at AO, explained that white vinegar is the perfect ingredient for banishing grim smells.

She told Good Food : “Mix vinegar and water into a solution and wipe this onto your fridge’s shelves and drawers – this will kill any germs and neutralise any lingering odours.

“Wipe this solution onto the door seals too, as dirt and crumbs love to get right into the hidden nooks.”
