But Price, 41, has enjoyed a brilliant 2026 campaign, reaching the semi-finals of every major tournament bar the World Championship.

The Welshman booked his place in the World Grand Prix quarter-finals with a convincing 3-0 victory over Ross Smith in Leicester.

Price has been returning home to Markham between matches as he sticks to a strict routine during his latest bid for silverware.

He said: “I’m superstitious. When I do one thing once, I have to do it again.

“I sit in the same chair, at the same table, all the way through the tournament.

“And as smelly as it sounds, I don’t change my top. Not very often, anyway!

“I’ll do exactly what I need to do to keep the demons out of my head.”

14-time major winner and have both already been knocked out, while Jonny Clayton booked his place in the quarter-finals by beating Wessel Nijman.

But Price insists he is not concerned about the big names who have already departed the tournament.

He added: “I don’t care about other players. Obviously Luke’s [Littler] brilliant player, both Lukes. Three Lukes.

“There are so many good players left in this. Jonny played brilliantly, took his chances and took some big shots out to beat Wes, who’s been playing brilliantly in the floor tournaments.

“Regardless of Luke being out or Michael being out, it’s still a tough tournament to win.

“I’ll just concentrate, step by step, on my own game.”

Price returns to action on Friday in Leicester and will face Jonny Clayton for a place in the semi-final at the Mattioli Arena.
