The Welshman appeared to be upbeat over his hospital visit

Price has tasted victory in several tournaments including the Poland Darts Masters and the Baltic Sea Darts Open.

But the Welshman was a no-show when the draw for the Players Championship was made on Monday.

Fans were left confused at seeing one of their favourites absent from the ballot.

Jeffrey de Graaf won the first final on Monday, with Stephen Bunting triumphing on Tuesday to earn £15,000.

However, Price set the record straight to allay fans’ worst fears.

He posted a health update showing himself in hospital.

The slinger uploaded a photo of his right hand looking extremely red and swollen.

Price captioned the snap: “Just what I didn’t want, back to the hospital it is.”

He later took a picture of himself sitting with a drip in his arm, adding: “Not a bed in sight.”

Price has a history with injuring his hand.

In 2022 he was forced to withdraw from a Premier League night after suffering a fracture.

Price did not confirm if this was a similar injury.

But it remains to be seen if he returns for several tournaments in the upcoming weeks.

The World Series Finals, Czech Darts Open and Flanders Darts Trophy are all on the horizon.

And headline time for a fractured hand can reach anywhere between three to eight weeks.
