GEORGE LIDDARD made a significant impact on the British boxing scene with a standout performance in 2025.

At just 23 years old, the Billericay native completely outclassed the experienced 29-year-old Kieron Conway from Northampton to capture the prestigious 11st Lonsdale belt.

The performance at York Hall was impeccable, showcasing skill without being overly flashy and thoroughly dominating without being tedious.

After winning every round, Liddard knocked Conway down in the ninth round, by which time the fallen champion had sustained an injury to his jabbing left hand.

His father and trainer, James, threw in the towel in the tenth round, much to the delight of the fans.

“And the new baby!” he exclaimed during his coronation.

“I said I would be British champion by the end of the year, and I did it – Get up!”

“I knew I had the quicker hands and feet, I recognized he was tough, but we got the job done.

“I would have won by any means necessary, but I have tremendous respect for Kieron.

“In my 13th fight, I performed like a seasoned pro and earned the British title.”

The bookmakers had the fight nearly even, with many fans leaning towards Conway's experience, height, and reach advantages to defy the odds.

However, Liddard was flawless from the outset.

Even when he absorbed a few shots from Conway, he demonstrated an iron chin and a calculated ferocity to immediately counterattack.

At the beginning of fight week, the dedicated Iron revealed to SunSport that he dreams of one day fighting at his club's expansive Stratford stadium.

With his talent and youthful exuberance on his side, he might just bring that dream to fruition for the Hammers.

He stated: “I heard many people say this was too early for me and that I would falter on the big stage.

“But people don’t see the dedication and the effort I put into my training behind the scenes.

“I will let my team decide the next steps; while others viewed this as a 50-50 fight, my team knew it wasn’t.

“The dream is the London Stadium, baby!”
