The tanker suddenly erupted into a monster fireball, sending thick black smoke billowing into the air.

A deafening boom could be heard as the blast tore through a gas storage site in the San Juan Negrete neighbourhood at around 10am on June 4.

Emergency services rushed to the scene and were left scrambling to bring the blaze under control.

The tanker was allegedly transporting smuggled gasoline when it detonated.

Authorities have since launched an investigation to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the explosion.

This isn’t the first time a quiet town has been rocked by an almighty bang.

In May, when a huge fireball erupted from a drilling site.

Shocking footage shows the towering blaze illuminating the night sky as chunks of mud and rocks are violently blasted into the air.

The dramatic incident unfolded at around 2am in Gampong Blang Rubek, with stunned witnesses reporting flames soaring up to 250ft into the sky.

At least three homes were badly damaged in the blast, while 52 residents were forced to evacuate.

Remarkably, no injuries were reported.

Local chief Trie Aprianto said the blaze began after a drilling project struck a pocket of gas around 300ft below the surface.

He explained a well was being built to provide water for a community struggling with shortages during the dry season.

Workers reportedly noticed sand and mud gushing from the borehole during drilling and realised something was wrong.

Just hours later, the site erupted violently, igniting in a massive fireball that sent debris raining down on the surrounding area.

Footage of the incident quickly went viral on social media, with stunned users commenting on the sheer size of the flames.
