GAELIC WARRIOR hammered Fact To File on the bridle to complete an epic Gold Cup double for owner Rich Ricci.

Jockey Paul Townend simply lobbed around Punchestown on the Cheltenham Gold Cup king before easing past fierce rival Fact To File.

Grangeclare West, Inothewayurthinkin and Champ Kiely had already cried enough by the time Gaelic hit the front.

And he just cruised home, popping the last two nicely to see off JP McManus’ Irish Gold Cup winner.

It confirmed he is THE standout 3m chaser in training – and arguably the most talented horse around.

Gaelic Warrior was trimmed to 2-1 from 3s to defend his Gold Cup crown at next year’s Cheltenham.
