The President of Dangote Refinery, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, has pledged to hinder the importation of fuel into the country.
He stated that if importers continue to overlook his products in favor of foreign markets, he would go as far as adding an additional 4,000 CNG trucks to the existing 4,000 that are already supplying products to retailers nationwide.
According to DAILY POST, Africa’s wealthiest individual, Dangote, mentioned that he is doing everything possible to ensure the success of his $20 billion investment.
During a press conference in Lagos on Sunday, the owner of Africa's largest refinery emphasized that a business of this scale must not be allowed to fail.
Dangote remarked that, as it stands, the ongoing struggle between him and major oil marketers in the country will persist, as he will not sit idly by while his investment is in jeopardy.
He expressed his hope that fuel importers continue to incur even greater losses.
The wealthiest man in Africa acknowledged that he is also experiencing financial losses, clarifying that his focus is not solely on profit but on the fact that marketers desire to maintain imports.
He stated, “If they wish to import fuel, let them continue. That’s fine; we will compete in the market. If 4,000 CNG trucks are insufficient, we will acquire another 4,000 trucks. It’s a logistics business.”
