Ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations in Bauchi, the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, in Bauchi State has flagged off a special operation, deploying no fewer than 820 personnel to ensure a safe and seamless festive period.

The Sector Commander, Mr Istifanus Ibrahim, disclosed this during an interview with journalists on Thursday.

He said the deployed personnel comprise both regular and special marshals who have been stationed at strategic locations, including major roads and prayer grounds, to manage traffic and ensure road safety.

As part of the measures, Ibrahim revealed that 18 patrol vehicles, six tow trucks, and five ambulances have been mobilised across the state to handle enforcement, rescue operations, and the swift removal of obstructions that may impede traffic flow during the celebrations.

“The command is committed to ensuring zero road traffic crashes, prompt response to road obstructions, and maintaining a free flow of traffic, especially with the expected increase in human and vehicular movement during the Sallah period,”; the Sector Commander stated.

To further enhance compliance with traffic regulations, the command will also conduct mobile court sittings and embark on public sensitisation campaigns across motor parks, places of worship, and through media channels.

He noted that the special operation, tagged ‘Operation Eid-el-Kabir,’ commenced on Thursday, June 5, and will run through Wednesday, June 11, 2025.
